This group is open to anyone. I am, by no means, an expert on movies and our discussions are completely informal. Make your movie-watching a more enriching experience by getting together with your fellow movie fans!
This is an ACTIVE Meetup Group... if you are sensitive to being invited to our events, please note that we schedule about 4-8 events a month. We try to keep emails down to the announcements of the actual movies, and then only to those that RSVP "yes" to a specific event. Other than that, I try to not send out more than one mass non-event email every few months. Our basic mission: To see significant and/or interesting films playing in the greater San Francisco Bay Area and then to go somewhere …

If you do know the differences, you're welcome! Whether you speak French fluently, a little, or not at all, you're welcome! All you need to …

I decided to start this group because I'm somewhat new to San Francisco and I wanted to make more female friends that were my age. This group is for 40-something, college educated, kind, witty, women who are decent conversationalists. Interests are art, architecture, food, wine, film, walks, shopping and the list goes on. *While certainly no one will be discriminated for their sexual orientation, please note that this happens not to be a lesbian-focused group.

Enjoy film? Like discussions that move beyond likes and dislikes and explore the ways character and circumstance in film reveal true aspects of life and the ways humans relate deeply (or don't)? In this group we'll meet at the Landmark Theater in Berkeley for matinees on some Saturdays--September through November, view artful films, and then stroll to a local cafe' for discussion and coffee/tea for about an hour. Join for one, Saturday a few, or all four. Potential for movie and dinner as a fun …
Blockbusters? Indie? Cult? You can get those anywhere. This is the group for movies so bad they're good. The weird, the bizarre, the horrible acting, the ridiculous concepts, the non-work-safe hilarity. Most people are just uncomfortable watching them, but for whatever reason they tickle the suitably twisted sense of humor. Would you watch a movie called Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter, because a movie with that title must be awesome? Does your list of cinematic classics include things like Barbare …

As a creative laboratory, Palo Alto Int'l Film Festival's mission is to foster innovation and educate the community about those ideas that most inspire its members. "I am eye. I am a mechanical eye. I, a machine, am showing you a world, the likes of which only I can see." — Dziga Vertov This is a group dedicated to providing a space for other Bay area documentary lovers to meet, see, and discuss rare, hard to access documentary films. Beautiful, inspiring, thoughtful, provoking, insightful, quirky... just some of the words that describe our members; the films are pretty good too. It's back! (like a bad penny). The East Bay Indy/Foreign/Doc film group returns! Do you love really cool under the radar films? Maybe they don't make the billboards or the commercials; you hear about them from a friend or maybe on Fresh Air or you manage to see a preview when attending another gem. Frankly everyone I love big noisy films as much as a …
I made this group because I had trouble finding an indie music group centered around the South Bay/San Jose area. As a grad student, I don't have money to dish out for tons of concerts, so I thought that we could meet at various affordable activities such as hikes, Farmers Markets, downtown excursions and happy hours (these are some of my favorites, but feel free to suggest more). There we can get to know potential concert buddies, discuss new/favorite music and plan events. I'd love to arrange …

Hello! This is a group for people who want to go out to the theater to see all kinds of movies: indie, documentaries, block busters, horror, sci fi, fantasy, you name it.
