Love to go to see indie and foreign films and then talk about them afterward? Me, too! Hi, I'm Francesca, an indie filmmaker and trans-media artist who lived in Manhattan for 25 years and thought nothing of calling a friend and suggesting we meet in an hour at one of the many arthouse theaters around town. But, when I moved to NJ I found my friends here did NOT share my tastes so I created the NJ ArthouseFilm Society (just to sound fancy). And, wouldn't you know it, there are tons of people lik …

As independent filmmakers, we know how hard it is to find a platform to screen our movies. This group will be a platform for indie filmmakers to screen their movies. The intention of this group is to help indie filmmakers to organize screenings, to get more people for their screening and help them get some profit from tickets so they can keep making more movies.
I'm starting this group for those movie fans who tend towards the indie scene and exroidinary movies (i.e. Requin for a Dream, Magnolia, The Salton Sea, The Sweet Hereafter, Pan's Labyrnth,Garden State. Freeway [Witherspoons first picture])...I hope by know you get the picture. And I wouldn't limit it to indie-films only, there is a plethora of good films making theit rounds that never were promotted. After the movie I though we could stop at a coffee shop, grab a coffee or a snack, and then get …

I have to believe in a world outside my own mind. I have to believe that my actions still have meaning, even if I can't remember them. I have to believe that when my eyes are closed, the world's still there. Do I believe the world's still there? Is it still out there? … Yeah. We all need mirrors to remind ourselves who we are. I'm no different. (Memento, 2000) No matter what anyone tells you - words and ideas can change the world. (Dead Poets Society, 1989) See, Mr. Gitts, most people never have …
